As of March 1, 2007 Calrad has formed a partnership with Steven Hanna the creator and programmer of Xlobby a popular software program that has had wide success for many years as a freeware media PC front end. The software's flexible layout, intuitive features and core structure make it perfect for consumer and professional use. More then 100,000 copies of the software have been downloaded and are currently in use by novices and professional's. The current Xlobby forum of more then 2000 active users is filled with in depth technical discussions, a wealth of resources and information. Calrad has promoted its own versions of media based front end software over the years with improving success. As an early adopter of this emerging technology we believe that the future versions of Xlobby along with the current product support from Calrad will create a completely new Audio & Video control system that not only works by itself but can be integrated for use with other manufactures or media partners technologies.Xlobby’s transition to commercial software
The immediate plans are that the existing version of Xlobby will remain Freeware for a limited time. The future versions of Xlobby is going commercial. We will create several versions of the software for different market's. New features and scale ability will be built-in. The new Core components will support commercial RS232, IR communication as well as a host of new features and emerging control technologies. Calrad's 40-WACI a IP based controller will become a important link between the control software and physical world in which we need to communicate and interface with. More detailed information will be posted when available. So I am sure everyone has a million questions, what’s the next step? How much is xlobby going to cost? How is this all going to work? What new features are planned? We don’t have all the answers to every question that everyone will have, this is a brand new partnership and we are really early on in the game. We will be working on xlobby and the web site's to bring it up to a state where more information will be available and interest is generated so people will want to buy it. During this transition period Calrad has agreed to keep the current version free and open to the public.
Calrad will continue to demonstrate, use and sell the current Xlobby technology along with Calrad's complete software, hardware based solutions. Systems are currently being built on a daily basis to existing Calrad customers. The Calrad web site will continue to develop on a daily basis, some items are a work in progress so please excuse the area's at the beginning that has few or no content yet.
To the new users of this technology download the current version of Xlobby and try the software. For the existing users I hope everyone sticks around to see what continues to develop around the Xlobby platform. Everyone that continues to use and support xlobby, we thank you.
